I went on a grueling bike ride again I must say though to all, I have experienced a problem with my bike that I think all should be made aware of. Well, were to start! After riding my bike for some time with my friend I got a flat tire, this is where it all started. I think I may have mentioned this before, but would like to shed some light on it closer. I did get it repaired, but was unaware of what was done to it to decrease my performance, it was thwarted! Yes, I just couldn’t keep up coasting with my friend. I had to peddle and peddle harder to stay up with him. I never had to work so hard to keep up. So, I made it through that ride but as someone who is dogging it, not so! I attempted a few easier runs later with my wife, but even she would coast longer than me. I tested my bike for dragging brakes, but all was fine so I thought it could be the bearings! Well I greased it up, oiled everything and the performance was a little better, but I could not coast as I use to. I made another attempt to Bike ride a grueling route, but this time is was better, I still felt like my inners were over working more than they should. So, after this ride I was determined to take my bike back in for service again. I have an Electra Towning black on black 24 speed bike.
The first thing he said was that the fly screw was really tight and fought to get it off the front wheel! Secondly he said that the front wheel would not coast like the back wheel would. Evidentially the back wheel was working great but the front was damaged not revolving as the back was, this is where my lag was! So, inclusions when you are lost as I was for a solution, check the tightness of your wheels bolts than check that both front and back wheels are spinning at the same speed. My bearings were damage and the front wheel was tightened too tight causing me to peddle extremely more than was needed.
